On the last weekend we decided to make some use of the free time we have and go into the mountains. On Saturday evening we went for the sunset and on Sunday morning for the sunrise, and both places that we visited are just few kilometres away from each other.
So on Saturday we started after watching TV and drove for almost an hour through Schwarzwald until we reached our location. On the way there we had been overtaken by an Audi who thought that it was on Rally Deutschland ;) Then we started the hike - an easy 3 to 5 kilometres, as I remembered... or at least I thought that I did remember. It turned out to be rather steep and Monika was struggling a bit because it was mighty steep. Did I already tell that it was steep? :) And well, I told her all the time that it´d be an easy, totally flat hike - the older I get the more my memory seems to betray me ;)
And well, we also started to go a bit too late (thanks again to my memory as I "knew" that the sun would set at 20:45 not 19:45...). So then it also turned out that we would not make it to the mountain top on time for the sunset, so we just stopped when the sun went down and made our pics from where we were standing. The first picture is from this place, here it comes:

But this evening was just the first test :) We had the plan to go again the next morning. The destination was Feldberg - the highest mountain in Schwarzwald with its 1495 metres. We did not really go to the main peak, but to a neighbouring one, reaching about 1440 in height. Still it was enough to be higher than all the mountains around us and therefore we had a great view when the sun rose.
The journey started a bit harsh though, as 4 o´clock mornings are not among our favourite ones ;) But the weather was too gorgeous to not get the arses out of bed and so we soon were on our way. From where we parked the car it was another 200 metres in height and then we reached the peak and the sun was just about to rise :) We had like another half an hour to just watch around and enjoy the view before the real show started - and boy, was it beautiful :) Here come the pics:

Do not fail to notice how the sunrays caress the tree tops and the mountain ridges and how they spell this magical light upon the landscape! :)
We went home then and arrived at around eleven. Monika went to sleep and I prepared us some pancakes and then we had pancakes together and then we both went to bed again and slept a bit more :) We planned to get up for the Formula 1 race´s start, but we did not really manage. Half an hour after the race had started we finally also started to follow the ongoing events at the track :)
So much about our picture-taking weekend :) I bet there will be more to follow soon :) Pictures are by the way 2 from me and 2 from Monika, so you can see that we had lots of fun, the both of us :)
Another thing: we plan to have a bit of a wedding celebration in Germany. Not really a celebration, it's more like inviting a bunch of friends over and cooking for them :) The plan is to let it take place on October 6th. Invitations are sent out - now let's see how many people are coming - and how many plates, forks, chairs, knives, spoons, glasses, etc. we have to borrow from my parents ;)
So long for now. I hope noone does believe anymore that this blog is "going down" ;)
